The Hospital has 27 Bedded Medical ICU with state-of-the-art monitoring and ventiilatory facilities manned by ICU Trained Residents and In-House Consultants for round-the-clock care. ICU has separate isolation rooms with facilities for both positive and negative presuure chambers. Our MICU is rated as one of the most affordable and best Intensive Care Units in the city. Exclusively for Post-Operative Cardiac patients, the Hospital has 24-Bedded Intensive Care Unit  with round-the-clock monitoring. Operation Theatre Batra Hospital has state-of-the art and extremely well-equipped operation theatres. Each OT haslaminar airflow for air-conditioning with HEPA Filters. Imported dual dome OT lights, low flow anaesthesia machines with built in ventilators and multi-parameter modular monitors make the OT’s comparable to the best in the world. This combined with separate Pre and Post-Operative Area,Recovery Room and Surgical ICU make it an excellent area for comprehensive care of patients undergoing surgery. The units also have their own blood gas and electrolyte machines and are adequately equipped with advanced monitoring systems, syringes and infusion pumps. PROFILE

The seed of B B Eye Foundation was sown by Dr Pradeep Kumar Bakshi in 1989, as a centre forcataract surgery. In the last two decades it has grown from strength to strength and today it is a landmark for total Eye Care in Eastern India

Dr Bakshi is one of the most experienced surgeons in the country, who revolutionized eye surgery in Eastern India, with IOL implantation in the eighties and phacoemulsification in the nineties. Living up to this tradition, we are amongst one of the first to do microphaco, use customized IOLs, equip the “Glaucoma Services” with the newest of technologies, perform the most advanced vitreo retinal, strabismus andpediatric cataract surgeries, and offer highest quality of cornea services with the turn of the century.

B B Eye Foundation is spread over three floors with three composite units – The Clinic Section, The Surgery Centre and The Diagnostic Centre.

The Clinic Section is equipped with examination rooms, where experts in all subspecialties of Ophthalmology are available to see patients, aided by an optometry section where highly skilled technicians are at work. Optometrists also undergo Internship training programs for a year.

B B Eye Foundation has three fully functional Operation Rooms with Leica and Zeiss microscopes, Alcon Infinity and AMO Signature Phacoemulsification systems and Alcon Vitrectomy equipment.

The Diagnostic Section is equipped with the latest state of the art equipments at par with the best centers in the world.

The office is open from 8 am – 6 pm Monday through Saturday and the smooth administration does its utmost to inform patients regarding vision examination or medical and surgical care.

The Foundation has a well informed reception desk and a surgery viewing area for the family of the patients. We are perhaps among the very few practices in the country that employs a routine telecast of all the live surgeries.

We are one of the select group of practices that are continually involved in clinical research and have presented scientific papers and chaired sessions at National and International levels of Ophthalmic CME programs. Relevant to say , that surgeons from the Foundation have delivered talks and Instruction courses at the highest level of Ophthalmic platforms like the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the All India Ophthalmological Society.

Surgeons from B B Eye Foundation have performed live surgeries for demonstration at workshops all over the country. We are blessed with ophthalmologists from all over the country coming in to observe Dr Bakshi and the other surgeons during surgery.

The surgery centre is one of the most modern and complete eye care facilities in the country. The operating suites have state of the art equipments and are well supported by the in house Physicians and Anesthesiologists.

The Diagnostic Centre is complete with the latest equipments in Lasers, DFA, Biometry, Perimetry, Dynamic Contour Tonometry, Specular microscopy, Pachymetry, Ultrasonography and OCT3.

DR. SOURAV SINHA

Dr Sourav Sinha completed his MBBS in 1994 and MS in Ophthalmology in 1998 from Kasturba Medical College at Mangalore. He then went on to do his Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.

 

He was  appointed as Associate Consultant at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai in 2000. In 2005, he was deputed to Rotary Narayana Sankara Nethralaya, Kolkata as Clinical Incharge. He then went on to become the Medical Director of Sankara Nethralaya, Kolkata in 2007.

He has been in exclusive VR practice since mid 2008 at BB Eye Foundation, Kolkata. 

 

He has publications in peer reviewed journals. He is also a reviewer for Indian Journal of Ophthalmology and is on the Scientific and Journal committees of Ophthalmological Society of West Bengal.

Endophthalmitis and Diabetic Retinopathy are his areas of special interest.

The Concept

There is no large private sector hospital anywhere in central India, & it is felt that there exists a need for such a hospital, which would receive patients from eastern Gujarat, southern parts of Rajasthan, western U.P. etc. A vast majority of patients requiring tertiary care are going to metropolitan cities like Delhi and Bombay for treatment at present. Estimates of this exodus, according to market researches, vary between 60-75% at present. Bombay Hospital, Indore aims to treat this population and cater to all sections of society.
Bombay Hospital, Indore is a multi-speciality 600 bedded hospital coming up in Indore. It will have state of the art facilities, in terms of medical equipment & computerization. It will be the tallest structure in the entire state of Madhya Pradesh & will be run by the Bombay Hospital Trust, along lines similar to the principles of Bombay Hospital, Bombay. A significant proportion of patients would be treated free, both OPD and inpatients. 

Location & infrastructure

The hospital is located in the eastern part of the city of Indore on the Bombay-Agra Road, adjacent to the industrial complex of Dewas. It will consist of 2 tower buildings of 12 storeys each and a podium block of basement, ground floor and 2 other floors. There are plans to build a school of nursing on the premises and the hospital will apply for recognition to the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, so that we will be able to offer postgraduate degree (DNB) in as many subjects as possible.
Indore is considered to be a mini Bombay and is widely regarded as the commercial capital of MP. It is well connected to Bombay and Delhi by air and rail, and the flight time from Bombay to Indore is only 50 minutes.
The hospital is likely to commence operations by end of September.

Human Resource requirements

The management is presently in the process of recruiting outstanding consultants in all fields of medicine and surgery. The applicants should have the appropriate qualifications. (M.Ch in Orthopaedic surgery etc.) We are also recruiting paramedical personnel like physiotherapists, lab technicians, perfusionists, etc. Here also applicants should have appropriate qualifications. All applicants should be not more than 48 years of age.
